Santa Cruz Trek (4 Days)

Day 01: Huaraz - Vaqueria - Paria (3850 m)
Transport to vaqueria This day we will crossing the Portachuelo pass (4760 m.) Later arriving at a dairy where the muleteer awaits us to transfer the equipment. from this point we start the hike to Paria.
» Hiking time: 3 to 4 hours approx.
» Campsite: Llamacorral (3750 m)

Day 02: Paria - Punta union pass (4750 m) Taullipampa (4250 m)
This day we start very early since this day is the longest and most difficult day where we will have a unevenness of 900 m. to the Punta Union pass. From where we will have a view of the snow-capped mountains: Quitaraju, Taulliraju, Artesonraju, Huascarán, Contrahierbas, etc. further on we began to descend to the Taullipampa Campsite.
» Hiking time: 6 to 7 hours approx.
» Campsite: Taullipampa (4250 m)

Day 03: Taullipampa - Laguna arhuaycocha - Llamacorral (3750 m)
This day we will be able to appreciate the Alpamayo snow-capped southwest face (5970 m) later during the hike we will be able to appreciate the Ichicocha and Jatuncocha lagoons and the Caraz, Quitaraju, Artesonraju, Alpamayo snow-capped peaks.
» Hiking time: 7 to 8 hours approx.
» Campsite: Cachinapampa (3750 m)

Day 04: Llamacorral - Cashapampa - Huaraz
This last day we will have a short hike to Vaquería where our transport awaits us for the transfer to Huaraz.
» Hiking time: 2 to 3 hours approx.

ALTERNATIVE ITINERARY
Cashapampa to Vaqueria: The starting point of the trek can be changed prior coordination or at the client's request.

Included:

• Transportation: From your hotel in Huaraz to the starting point of the trek, and from the end of the trek to your hotel in Huaraz.
• Camping equipment: Good quality mountain tents (2 people per tent), mattresses, dining tent, kitchen tent, dishes and kitchen utensils, tables and chairs.
• Food: Breakfast, lunch and dinner (option for vegetarians or vegans).
• Guide: Certified trekking guide (English or Spanish).
• Cook: Trained cook to prepare varied and healthy dishes.
• Arriero: In charge of loading the donkeys and driving them.
• Donkeys: The number of donkeys depends on the size of the group. You can carry up to 7kg/15lbs of personal items that will be loaded onto the donkeys. During the day you will only carry your personal backpack.
• Emergency horse: A horse will be available with the muleteers in case of emergencies for evacuation purposes.
• First aid kit.

Not Included:

• Entrance fee to the Huascaran National Park (See Rates )
• Personal trekking equipment: sleeping bag (it is possible to rent in Huaraz), trekking shoes or boots, waterproof jacket and/or pants, poncho, backpack, flashlight, etc.
• Additional expenses: as a result of leaving the trek early, as a result of emergency rescue and/or evacuation, extra food or drinks in the villages, medical treatment.
• Breakfast the first day and dinner the last day.
