Cedros Alpamayo trekking circuit
This wonderful trek is around the snow-capped Alpamayo (considered the most beautiful mountain on the world in the 1966 Munich scenic photography contest). This circuit is designed for those who have already had previous experiences in hikes. A correct acclimatization is important to carry out this beautiful and long hike that joins two important circuits that run through the Los Cedros valley.
During the journey we will come across many blue-turquoise Andean lagoons and several passes over 4,700 m. where we will have amazing and inspiring views of the mountains such as Huascarán, Santa Cruz, Taulliraju and Chacraraju.
Day 1: Huaraz (3,100 m.) – Hualcayan (3,140 m.) - Huishcash (4,200 m.)
Transfer in private transport to the town of Hualcayan, from where we will start the hike zigzag up a bridle path to our first Huishcash campsite.

Day 2: Huishcash – Ruinapampa (4400 m)
This day we leave by transport crossing the Portachuelo pass (4760 m.) Later arriving at a dairy where the muleteer awaits us to transfer the equipment. from this point we start the hike to Paria.

Day 03: Ruinapampa – Jancarurish (3800 m)
This day the hike will be through the Cedros valley and in the direction of the Alpamayo valley from where we will have the most impressive view of the northwest face of Alpamayo (5947 m).

Day 04: Jancarurish – Alpamayo Viewpoint (4450 m) – Jancarurish
This day we will be able to appreciate the Alpamayo snow-capped southwest face (5970m) later during the hike we will be able to appreciate the Ichicocha and Jatuncocha lagoons and the Caraz, Quitaraju, Artesonraju, Alpamayo snow-capped peaks.

Day 05: Jancarurish – Huillca (4000 m)
This day we head towards Huillca, for this we will cross the Gara Gara pass (4830 m) and then the Mesapampa pass (4500 m).

» Camping: Huillca valley (4300 m)
Day 06: Huillca – Jancapampa (3600 m)
We leave Huillca in the direction of Jancapampa through the Yana Queñua valley. This day we will cross the Yanacon pass (4,600 m.)

» Campsite: Jancapampa (3600 m)
Day 07: Quebrada Jancapampa – Quishuar (3800 m)
This day we will hike towards the town of Pishgopampa (3600 m) then ascend through the Tingopampa valley towards the Tupa-tupa pass (4400 m), during our descent we will be able to appreciate the Huecrucocha lagoon.

Day 08: Quishuar – Tuctu (4200 m)
We leave from the campsite towards the high pass of Pucaraju (4650 m) from this point we can see the highest mountains of the Cordillera Blanca such as Huascaran, Chopicalqui, Chacraraju and also very close to Taulliraju (5830 m).

Day 09: Tuctu – Vaqueria (3,800 m)
This last day we will hike approx. 7 km through the Huaripampa valley, the hike will always be surrounded by forests of Quenual trees and traditional villages until we reach Vaqueria where our transport awaits us for the transfer to Huaraz.
