Hatun Machay is a rock forest located in the Cordillera Negra between Huaraz and Conococha, at 4,200 m. It has an extension of 200 hectares.
The area has many attractions, such as cave paintings, petroglyphs and different rock formations, also in the upper part of the forest we can find a lunar landscape made up of a large number of rock blocks.
Hatun Machay is also a rock climbing school for lovers of this sport; Here you can find a wide variety of routes between 15 and 60 meters. It is also an excellent place for astrophotography.
